Rode microphone serial number dating

Rated 4.97/5 based on 559 customer reviews

The serial number and the date (July 1998) were handwritten into the instruction guide that accompanied the mic.The number is also etched into the mic, near the bottom. It was a slow day at my local Guitar Center, so the clerk and I set up a whole bunch of different mics in a wide range of prices, including some very expensive ones, and tested them with various things. It would be interesting to hear if Jim Williams, who I believe is the mic's designer, has anything to say about these serials #'s. Was looking on the web too, if there's a difference between them. I would kind of like to know if I have one of the original Jim Williams-designed NT2s.
