There is an easy way to determine the date of your vintage Jensen speaker.
The next number is the year of manufacture and the last two numbers will be the week of manufacture.
Take the following example: In this case, "220" is the Jensen manufacture code.
The year is confusing because it is only a single digit.
Some manufacturers also attached other letters to the end of the date code to indicate day of the week, work shift, serial number, lot number, etc.
The EIA only specifies manufacturer and year/week code.
Anything else is at the discretion of the manufacturer.
